Clayton’s Journal
May 7- Afternoon
I have seen things that cannot be unseen.
Today began like any other day. I decided that since I had 10 hours to kill before the Lady J came home, I would clean the house. I worked on my room and took some things to the recycling center down the road. I came back and started on my bathroom. I always clean almost every surface using some spray and paper towel. The toilet is no exception. I have the lid up and I am cleaning the various surfaces. I didn’t mean to do it, but I threw the used paper towel into the bowl. I knew that I had made a fatal error, but I had no other option but to flush it down. The next thing I know, there is that there are buckets of water pouring over the top of the rim. My floor is buried underwater and I am running out of the room screaming bloody murder in fear of it touching my socks. Granted, there was nothing in the water, but it is still toilet water all over my bathroom. I sat in the corner of my bedroom, in the dark, holding my knees, biting my fingers while replaying the event over and over. Finally, my sanity came back and I knew that I must clean up the mess that had been made. Fortunately, we have a box of disposable rubber gloves and I used them to mop up the water with paper towel. It took me almost 2 rolls and 10 gloves, but I did it. Imediately, after soaking it up, mopping twice, and washing my hands 636 times, I ran to the cabinet where we keep our liqour and made myself a double with a two-fisted Molson chaser. I have now come back to my senses enough to process and record that which I may never forget. May I never live to see it again.
